December 10th, 2007

  • One of my co-workers/friend's daughter and son-in-law was in an accident over the weekend. Kenny was driving, hit some ice and lost control of their jeep and it flipped. Not sure if it was just once or more than once. Kenny has a broken collarbone, bruised lung and possibly a broken elbow. Beth is more critical. She has a broken wrist, severed ligaments in her arm and lots of bruising on both arms. Also, she has multiple skull fractures. The accident was saturday morning and overnight saturday night, Beth got worse. They took her in for an MRI on Sunday and then took her into surgery. They had to remove parts of her skull, as her brain was swelling and pushing up against her skull. When I spoke with Paula, Beth's mom, this morning she said Beth was still critical but not worse. The doctors weren't sure if she was going to even make it through the surgery so thank God she has. They still aren't fully aware of Beth's head injuries, as there is so much swelling still. Please lift up Paula and her family in your prayers. A lot of the focus, understandably, is on Beth, but lift Kenny's mind up in prayer. He's feeling incredibly guilty and blaming himself for what's happened. -- Nancy H.
